why fr alec reids remarks upset me so much
i grew up in northern ireland and the people i knew and a lot of other protestants did not treat the catholics like the nazi s treated the jewish people .loughveiw estate was a mixed estate the catholic people there had same houses as we did and all went to better schools st colunbanus in bangor compared to holywood high school they got the better deal we where just rushed through school where at their school they actually got teached.maybe in the fifties it was different but so where many places. i hear the nationalists say its our land and it should be one but were nt the ulster scots there first untill around 600 b.c then the celts came and used force to take the land from the different people who had settled there .
so who owns the land who cares . they need to stop bringing up the past yet some crimes still need to be adressed on both sides why should someone get away with murder.
