Afghanistan
ive been following a story this week.it was a request from their president hamid karzai he asked tha u.s used less airpower and asked before they kicked down doors and searched houses.and less military action.u.s assisant defence secetary peter rodman told a congressional hearing that he did not fully understand karzai's remark and the need for foreign military action had decreased after parliamentry elections."we see the fight is still on and he knows that" said rodmam.he touted close operational co operation between u.s and afghan forces and said washington consulted with kabul on military matters."maybe he was speaking to his people, who would like to see the violence subside,"rodmen told the house committee on international matters. at a news conferance on tuesday ,karzai said"i dont think there is a big need for military acttivity in afghanistan anymore." "When there's a need for it we'llconduct it,"he said. Karzai also said that airpower was no longer very effective, and rodman told the committee that "on airstrikes we agree with him. he also predicted that u.s troops would be needed for another few years. So i read it you can say what you want as you are president but you dont have a say on matters that involve u.s policys .
